Ferrofluids are solutions containing ferromagnetic nanoparticles. Because of their properties, ferrofluid can be shaped. For this showcase, FiveCo developed electronics that control the magnetic field emitted by an electromagnet allowing them to show symbols on the surface of the ferrofluid.

This system fits into the set of objects controlled by the sequencer which currently offers the possibility of scenography linking LED lighting, video on OLED screen, transparent LCD glasses and engines. This project was presented at the 2011 BaselWorld.
